The Purpose Of Art

The whole point of art is to connect us to something deeper than the normal state of human consciousness. Art is like a stone that takes our awareness deeper, or a wing that takes us higher. But if all it does is reflect back to us more of the normal state of human consciousness then a great opportunity has been lost.
